In the early morning of today, Friday November 6th, Luis Alberto Ammann died. Siloist since his youth, a writer, he deployed multiple activities as a very close collaborator of Silo, writing among other books "Self-Liberation" published in the main languages of the Western world. In 1983 he made an important contribution to the organization and theoretical foundation of the Campaign for Optional Military Service in Argentina.
From 1984 onwards he applied himself in a commendable way to the creation and development of the Humanist Party in Argentina, of which he was the General Secretary for 14 years, without leaving behind the diffusion of siloism in its different expressions in various countries and cultures of the world.
At the end of the 1980s, the Humanist Party participated with other political and social organizations in the construction of the coalition Frente Amplio de Liberación (FRAL) together with the Green Party and the Communist Party. Later he was a presidential candidate for the Green Humanist Front in 1989.
He also stood out in the international arena, with activities in Latin America and Europe. Since 1989 he was one of the main promoters of the Humanist International of which he was Vice President between 1989 and 2010. Later he was a member of the first coordinating team of the International Federation of Humanist Parties (2010-2012) and its Secretary General in the following period (2012-2014). He cooperated at all times without reservation or compromise in the multiple particularities of the common work generated by Silo.
Friends and activists from different parts of the world will continue his legacy, inspired by his unwavering faith and consistent action for the humanization of the world.
