Liliana Ambrosio takes over as new Secretary General
24/01/2021. The International Coordinating Team 2020-2022 of the International Humanist Party (IHP), is about to complete six months of having assumed its function and is now focused on evaluating its initial work and the development of its Roadmap within the Strategic Plan 2021-2023 of the IHP.
As part of this process, at its 20th session today, Sunday, January 24, 2021, Liliana Ambrosio was appointed as the new Secretary General of the IHP, as well as José Rafael Quesada as the new International Liaison Secretary. In this same session, Miguel Eduardo Portel was incorporated as a new member of the ICT.
With the new appointments, the holders of the permanent secretariats of the IHP are:
- Liliana Ambrosio, Secretary General,
- Fernanda Ortiz Guerra, Secretary of Organization,
- Daniel Rocca, Positioning Secretary,
- José Luis Álvarez, Communications Secretary,
- José Rafael Quesada Jiménez, Secretary of International Liaison, and
- Luis Alfonso Miranda Fuentes, Secretary of Administration, Minutes and Census.
As part of this same process, the next session, scheduled for January 31, will move forward with the analysis of the contributions to the action plan and will review the configuration of the existing work teams and thematic secretariats. The planning process is expected to conclude at this stage on February 14, although it will be reviewed and adjusted periodically thereafter.
The changes in the team began internally in the January 17 session, with the resignations of the former Secretary General, Vladimir Liforena and the Secretary of Human Rights, Juan Carlos Giménez. In accordance with the procedures established in our by-laws, Miguel Portel, from Argentina, has filled one of the two seats occupied by full members of Argentina elected to the 2020-2022 ICT, in this case, the seat vacated by Vladimir. Liliana Ambrosio, having assumed the General Secretariat, no longer occupies the International Liaison Secretariat.
From the ICT we would like to thank Liliana Ambrosio and José Rafael Quesada for their willingness to take on their new functions and also to thank both Vladimir Liforena and Juan Carlos Giménez for their contribution to the whole during these months.
